Hey! I'm Brian, a Fairfax-based math student at George Mason and a new research assistant in the SPIRE Lab, focused on the intersection of quantitative methods and working software. I like problems that look messy until you find the structure underneath: a proof, a broken build, a process that needs redesigning.

So far that's meant rebuilding an e-commerce platform for 1,000+ users, shipping an ML resume pipeline built on deterministic checks, and winning two tracks at HackFax x PatriotHacks with a privacy-preserving age verification system.

Web Development & User Experience

  • Rebuilt the e-commerce platform end-to-end, modernizing the navigation, functionality, and user experience across all customer-facing pages.
  • Developed a modular front end using React, Node.js, and JavaScript to improve maintainability and support future platform expansion.

Machine learning R&D

  • Built a prototype of a personalized model that produces an improved version of a person's resume, using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.

Privacy-preserving age verification that never learns who you are.

Issues signed age-band credentials without storing names, birthdates, or ID images. Six REST endpoints cover registration, authentication, scoped token issuance, field-level access control, and instant revocation, with JWT auth and bcrypt hashing. Built in a 24-hour window at HackFax x PatriotHacks 2026, where it took 2nd place in both the Cybersecurity and Gemini API tracks.
